Please read these Terms of Service (“Terms”) carefully before using the UMBRA: Shadow Work Journal mobile application (the “App”) operated by Dominik Wozniak - Software Developer (“us”, “we”, or “our”).
UMBRA IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL ADVICE.
1.1 Support Only: The App is a self-reflection tool designed for personal growth and shadow work exploration based on psychological concepts. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any mental health condition or psychological disorder.
1.2 Professional Help: The App is not a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, or medical advice. If you are experiencing emotional distress, trauma-related symptoms, or thoughts of self-harm, please seek immediate professional help from a licensed therapist or emergency services.
1.3 Assumption of Risk: By using the App, you acknowledge that shadow work can be emotionally challenging. You agree that your use of the App is entirely at your own risk.
2.1 Freemium Model: UMBRA provides a free tier limited to 15 total journal entries. To unlock unlimited journaling and advanced insights (the “Premium Features”), a subscription is required.
2.2 Billing: Payments are handled exclusively through the Apple App Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
2.3 Trial Periods: We may offer a 7-day free trial for annual plans. If not cancelled, the subscription will automatically convert to a paid annual plan at the end of the trial.
3.1 Local Storage: Your entries and “shadows” are stored locally on your device via expo-sqlite. We do not maintain cloud backups of your personal reflections.
3.2 Data Loss: You are solely responsible for the backup of your User Content. We are not liable for any loss of data resulting from app deletion, device failure, software updates, or loss of biometric access.
3.3 Prohibited Content: You agree not to use the App for any illegal purposes or to store content that violates local laws.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dominik Wozniak - Software Developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or emotional damages resulting from your use of the App or the “shadow work” process. The App is provided “AS IS”.
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes will be settled in the competent courts of Poland.
